Todd's Tax Service LLC
When will I get my refund? The true answer is no one knows. Once a tax season gets up and running, federal and state refunds are usually direct deposited in less than 2 weeks from the date the return was
efiled. But there are exceptions. Refunds can come much faster or slower than that.
How much do you charge? A fee schedule is available upon request. If you're considering having us prepare your 2022 taxes and are new to the office, please stop in with a copy of your 2021 tax return and your 2022 documents. We'll review them at the front desk (no appointment necessary) and give you a quote of our fee if we can accept you as a new client. We don't automatically accept new clients due to a variety of factors. For example, if we see errors on your 2021 return or "red flags" in your material, we may very well refuse to take you on as a new client.
Are there any tax changes this year? There are always changes at both the federal and state level. Some are innocuous like the annual increases in the standard deduction and exemption amounts. The amount of information can be overwhelming. We will work with you to sift through the tax law changes that impact your situation and draw your attention to the important ones.
How can I get a copy of my return? When I am in the office during tax season, you can always pick up an extra copy at no additional charge. For additional information, visit the Contact page which contains the details of how to obtain a copy of your return during the off season.
Why does my neighbor get back more money than I do? Everyone's situation is different. It's silly to compare yourself to others when it comes to your refund amount. We are very thorough and make sure you get the best refund (or lowest balance due) possible under the law.
Do my kids have to file taxes? Please see the "Student FAQ" page under Tax Info. We will file your dependent's return for $29 in most cases. (Fee is a little higher if the dependent has a complex tax situation).
I'm planning to start a business and need help. What do I need to keep track of? Please see "Small Business FAQ" page for more info. I no longer accept new business clients as I am semi-retired.
How do I fill out this W4? Various events in life trigger the need to fill out a W4 or W4P regarding income tax withholding. Filling out the worksheets that accompany these forms is a daunting task, and one that doesn't necessarily give the correct answer. Run your scenario by me and I can suggest an appropriate level of withholding from your income.
I get tons of questions on health insurance related issues. Be sure to see the "Affordable Care Act" page for general info and keep those questions coming.
With 10,000 baby boomers a day turning 65, I get tons of questions on social security. Be sure to see my Boomer retirement plan page and also the retiree FAQ page. Your tax appointment, which is included with your fee, is also an opportunity to ask questions and get information regarding your retirement plans.
