When you file online and run into problems, it will be very difficult in some cases to resolve those problems due to a backlog at the IRS. (Even in "normal" times, getting help from the IRS with an unexpected issue can take a long time.) Now is not the time to be penny wise and pound foolish when it comes to tax preparation services. Using a tax professional reduces the chance of an error on your returns or an issue with incorrect AGI info etc that can delay refunds.
